The Power of Positive

Never underestimate the power of being positive. Positive words and thoughts can help you more than you may at first realize and may also help someone else. Today I heard from a woman who is also a survivor. She survived one of the most intense hurricanes ever recorded, Hurricane Rita. She and her family had to be evacuated from their home and the devastation was great. She read a few lines that I have posted on a profile. She could relate to being a survivor, a strong woman but also grateful for the life that she has knowing that there are many who are not so fortunate. She wrote to me telling me that those few lines written in a profile had touched her.

As hard as I try to stay positive there are times when living with chronic pain that it becomes difficult. I had a surgery 2 weeks ago to remove adhesions from my abdominal wall with hope that it would relieve my gut pain. The past 2 days I have been miserable with pain and have been on the verge of tears and the thought of giving it all up has crossed my mind. I only want some relief from the pain that wears on me constantly.

This woman did not know that I needed a word of comfort today. She reached out and told me that my words touched her when her words meant more to me than she could possibly ever realize. Thank you Susan.
