To clean or not to clean, vintage jewelry, that is the question I ask myself sometimes. I get vintage jewelry from estates and other places and I usually let the buyer clean the jewelry if the want to or need to. I think that when we sell vintage jewelry, "patina" is a good thing.
I purchased a pair of earrings from an estate sale about a year ago and was told they were sixty years old. They looked every bit of those sixty years. They had lost all shine and were black. They made your hands dirty just holding them. I threw them in the jewelry junk box and never gave them another thought until the other day when I found them again...
I decided to clean them and this is what I found http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20156318
Aren't they gorgeous? So I guess the answer to the question, to clean or not to clean, is still going to be up to your discretion. But I'm glad that I did. Thanks for looking!
Over the years as I've searched for ways to heal, emotionally, spiritually and physically I found my healing in sometimes the most curious and profound ways. My hope is that I can share what heals me, with you.

Some Principles of Excellence
- You're not learning anything when you're talking.
- Be a part of excellence not critical of it.
- Be open to change.
- Get up early and work late.
- If you're not changing, you're not in first place.
- If you are doing the same thing this year as last year, you're losing ground.
- If you follow up, you are a hero.
- Motivation is what turns knowledge and skills into success.
- All play and no work does not work.
- When you work hard, you have earned the right to play.
- Aim high, you normally hit what you aim for.
